Vox pop at the world premiere of SAILAU

SAILAU want’s to redefine adventure by telling a positive story from the second largest island in the world: New Guinea.

According to the audience at the world premiere at the Doc Edge International Film Festival in New Zealand, SAILAU succeeded.

World Premiere dates in New Zealand

SAILAU will have its world premier at the Doc Edge International Film Festival in June 2023.

Director Thor F. Jensen will be hosting a Q&A following the screenings.

SAILAU lead star and co-producer Sanakoli John is on an international speaking tour as part of a delegation of Pacific voyagers and canoe builders.

It is such an inspiring story that a traditional sailor from a small island now is travelling the world promoting his cultural knowledge. So far the story has been covered in four outlets. Link to article.

SAILAU is also a social impact campaign to inspire PNG youth to preserve their traditional knowledge and what better role model than Master Sailor Sanakoli John.

Director Thor F. Jensen and Master Sailor Sanakoli John, were invited to Berlin by the Potsdam University to discuss SAILAU at a Pacific Voyaging Conference at the Humboldt Forum in Berlin.

It was the first time the two friends met in five years after the circumnavigation but the two friends hope to team up again later in the year to present SAILAU to an Australian Audience.
